Boom!

Bomb Threat at school today. We got out early. Or at least the people still at the highschool got out early. Us people with college classes didn't find out until after the buses had come and picked people up. Anyway, not much else happening with that. No one is allowed inside the school, so that means i couldn't pick up my bike and homework. Now I'm just waiting to see what happens.

Update

Update on the head thing, I went to go get the CT scan today, and the machine broke 3/4ths of the way through the second scan. However, the Doctor said he looked at what results they got, and they looked normal, but he is going to keep looking at them, just to make sure. My blood tests came back good, and now.. I just don't know. The headaches haven't stopped. But for now, we will just have to see what happens.

Code 75

Just went to the clinic today. I guess I had better explain why I went there. Lately (for 3 weeks) I have been getting these really bad headaches every time my blood pressure goes up. The pain is located behind the left eye and the back of the neck at the base of the skull. My Grandfather was concerned, and so made an appointment at the clinic for me. I went, and talked to the doctor for a while, and he sent me over to the hospital to get some blood drawn so they could do some tests. I have also been directed to monitor my blood pressure. So, I'm going to be doing that.

Oh, and it turns out that the military code for Atheist is "Code 75"

The Chrissy and Brian Show!

Time for another Podcast Review!
www.chrissyandbrianshow.com

This is a podcast is hosted by two people, Chissy and Brian. Of course, this is pretty obvious, considering the name of the show. However, how to describe them... well, I'll use their own description: "Brian thinks Chrissy is a left-wing feminazi British wannabe. Chrissy thinks Brian is a right-wing neo-con slacker. They don't agree on ANYTHING, yet somehow they remain friends despite the verbal bloodbath that ensues every week. How long can this insanity go on before they totally lose respect for each other?"

Now, some of these things may or may not be true, but the show generally ends up being pretty funny. Unlike the Geologic Podcast, they don't have segments. Instead, they just rely on what's going on in their lives and they tell everyone else about it. Also, they get fan-mail from readers, which they also talk about. What really makes it funny is just the comments they make about current events, each other, their listeners, and.... Life, The Universe, And Everything, really.

Anyways, I myself have sent them a few E-Mails, and they have talked about me in the past couple of episodes. Hey! Chrissy! Brian! It's me, the Alaskan! Hi!

Well, I will link the their blog, and the latest post.

The Geologic podcasts starts... now!

I promised a review, and now I deliver.

The Geologic Podcast is currently my down and out favorite podcast out there. George Hrab, the host, is a... well... wow. How do you explain someone who can come up with the Geologic Podcast. Why don't I just stick to the podcast itself? The Geologic Podcast features George talking about issues that bug him, interest him, or fill him with that nice, warm, gooey feeling inside.

The Show Features several segments, My favorite of which is the Religious Moron of the Week, where, in his own words, "George talks about hypocracy, misinterpretation, generic overtly religious stupidity, and moronic behavior!" It has a great intro, and always has a great story to tell about a religious person doing something really stupid. Now, realize that it is not that George hates religious people, it's that he HATES it when religious people do hypocritical things, or are just mean to people of other religions.

My next favorite segment he does is the Songs of the Periodic table. He is almost done with this segment, but he still has another show or two of them to do. What he does in this segment is plays songs he has composed that may or may not be about the Elements of the periodic table. all of the songs are good melodically and rhythmically, but the lyrics don't always tell anything about the element. in one or two songs, its just the name of the element being repeated over and over. But that's still fine, because he does a good job with it. It's great stuff, and when i gave it to my chemistry teacher he played a few of the songs in class.

Anyway, those are just two of several segments that he does in the show. check him out, I will link his blog, and if anyone decides to listen to the podcast, start with episode 31.1, then go back to the beginning. Until next time. here is a link straight to his latest post!

I'm tired.

*Yawn*

It's 6:38 AM here in Alaska right now. I'm getting up for my zero-period class, Jazz Band. I'm Going to have another post today, having my first real podcast review, about the Geologic Podcast, so I'm hoping that some people might show up and read it. For George's sake, at least.

Build it and They Will Come!

Technorati Profile

Well, I'm just trying to get this technorati thing to work. so far this blog has had 8 visitors. i think 7 of them were me. So, I'm going to advertise! Cue "Price is Right" Music!

And Here Is The Rest

The Seer would follow
To the Garden of Dreams
He sought to free Arthur
From the minstrel’s “schemes”

“You’ve become a danger
You evil stranger
Your words are all lies
I vow the you will die!”

“You are mistaken, Merlin
But I do not fear.
And so I bow down
To the charm
Of the Seer.”

And on that day,
The good minstrel died.
And soon after Merlin too,
Would fall to his pride.

And so you should know
Not to scorn the weak
To heed to their warnings
And respect the meek.

I think its one of my best written works.

The First Bit

This is the first bit of my English assignment that I turn in tomorrow.

There once was a minstrel,
Blind since birth.
A victim of time,
His life was a curse.

Visions and prophecies
Danced in his head
He felt he would see them
until he was dead.

He spoke of a fire
That would smother the village
He saw in the future
Rape, Plunder, and Pillage.

The villagers would hate him
They feared all those visions
They ran him out away
He had no provisions.

He hid in the forest
For two days and nights
For on the third day
The village set alight.

To the court of the King,

Good Sir Arthur

The poor minstrel traveled

He could run no farther

He sang of his visions

His songs couldn’t fail

He sang of the song

To find the grail.

One song he would sing
Of Merlin the Seer
Of the fate he would suffer
And what he should fear

He earned a place

At the kings side,

But from Merlin’s anger

He could not hide.

And Today's Topic Is...

Podcasts!!!
Thats, right. Podcasts. With three exclamation points. Exciting.

I listen to many podcasts. Not nearly as many as, say... Evo over at Slice of Sci-Fi or Wingin-it 3D (www.farpointmedia.net). I listen to 17 podcasts. As of Episode 40-something of the original Wingin-it, Evo listens to I think 40 something. What I like to do when I listen to a podcast is I try to start from the beginning and catch up. The problem is, some of these podcasts have over a hundred casts in one feed, and at an hour a show... well, I have time to kill. Right I'm trying to listen to all of the Original Wingin-it shows before i move on to Wingin-t 3D. I only have another 57 hours to go! Some of the others I listen to include the Geologic Podcast , Skepticality, We're Both Right, and... I'll add more later. So all... 1 of you who have come here, go there! Listen! Be enlightened!

Aaa! It's Growing!

Wow. I managed to stay devoted to this for at least a day. Go me! I guess it's time for me to explain some of what I will be talking about...

1. Stuff that I get, or Don't Get, or want to mention. Way for me to start out with something completely vague.

2. Podcasts. I listen to a number of podcasts, and it is here that I will review and promote them.

3. Skepticism. I am on the JREF mailing. This means, if you are religious, if you don't have a thick skin, go away. Seriously. I Don't specifically want you to be offended, but this is a blog and I will speak my mind.

4. School. 'Nuff said.

Well, I just ran out of that creative juice stuff, so I'm going to go get some more now.
However, for now... a picture of Penguins.

Look! A shiny new blog... thing!

Well, after years of holding out from the internet phenomenon of blogs and MySpace and all those other... things... I have finally given in. This blog... thing... will be my little place to rant, review, relax, and other verbs beginning with R.

Over some time, I'll tell a little bit more about myself, and maybe why I have given in to the call of society.

Just for starters, I have only given into blogs. I personally don't like MySpace. That's just my thing. If you don't like that, go complain to a wall somewhere. Go. Now. Away with you.
